The South American Ground Sloth is a worthless animal. It's meat is too tough and stringy for consumption. It's fur is too wispy to be of any use to the garment industry. But the one ground sloth whose life had meaning and purpose was the sloth whose hide was used to upholster my Univox bass cabinet.
man those are nice, I used to have one and that leather is so supple. it does have a tendency to get a bit dried out after 1000's of years though so I picked up a bottle of lotion for it at walmart. I might still have the bottle around if you need it I'll give it to you.
