Unusual Hartke Hydrive question

Sign in to disble this ad
So I am getting ready to move from my decrepit old wreck of a house into the new hotness about two hours away, and long story short, my wife and I discovered a carpet beetle infection in the old house just as we are packing for the move. Apparently they are attracted to natural fibers and the like, and the only remedy is to thoroughly clean, freeze, or destroy infested items.

Since we are in a prime position to clean or get rid of anything that might be an offending item, we are trying to 'clear' everything before it is loaded into the moving van. I have found these little bastards in some unusual places, but I am really not wanting to dig into the guts of my Hydrive to look for bugs! I was just wondering if anyone happens to know whether or not there is any sort of natural fiber (stuffing, etc.) other than wood in there to be concerned about.

Feel free to razz on me about the nature of the question. I can hack it!

The stuffing almost certainly isn't a natural fiber. No idea what Larry uses but rarely do you see natural fibers being used as fill or lining in cabs.

They'll only infest if you have your knobs turned to 'Fender Stack'...2-10-2
Which is the worst it probably can sound.
7-4-4 Bright "ON".

Your good though...those bugs ain't in there.

7-4-4 Bright "ON". That'll keep the critters out.

LOL thanks, guys! I knew that was probably the case, but I have "assumed" too many times in the past. Cab's about to be packed!

And heady... I am actually gonna try those settings as soon as I can get this thing out to the practice room... I just wanna see what the bugs are repelled by.

No, they are not repelled by Gene, they are attracted to the host nest in his hair. Same effect though, bugs all gone.

Hmmm, so you agree that Gene would do the job, but disagree on the mechanism by which it works. Sounds like a test is in order, but considering the cost just to get him to sign a bass, I am guessing that a personal appearance followed my me asking him to stick his bug seducing/repelling mug next to my cab may be a bit out of my price range.
