Hello talkbass. So here's the deal. I currently play an acoustic B100 bass combo which is 100 watts through a 15" speaker. I've been thinking of getting GK MB200 (200 watts, 12" speaker)

Is this much of an upgrade?
The acoustic has a master and gain knob, the GK has only a gain knob, I'm not sure how that's gonna work out.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

I'm playing in a 3 piece punk band.
The guitarist is using a 75 watt amp

What's the impedance/wattage of the acoustic vs the GK? Are you looking for more volume or better tone?

the smaller speaker size will offset the wattage gains. tonally it would be an upgrade imho, but volume wise it won't.
