Lightbulb upgrade speaker/driver for my el cheapo practice amp

Sign in to disble this ad
is this worth doing just for fun? I have one of those dinky little behringer bass practice amp that is only about 9" deep and 10.5 or so tall, that is, the enclosed portion where the driver lives, ported on the back... the port measures 6cm. the speaker in there is Behringer 8B25A8 .. 'vintage'.

the amp works, and I've abused it and it won't die, but is there some speaker that could do it any better than the one that's in there... it has no tonal range, except for a very potent fundamental harmonic that sort of leaps out at you when you hit the note... i want to say its a E but don't hold me to it...

any suggestions, or should I just save that $$ for strings..

Upgrading little beginer practice amps like that is a waste of money. Put the money towards a bigger better amp......or strings.
