There you have it. VERY pricey, indeed.

Yeah, it's one rack space, but 14.5" in depth.

For pro power amps, $300-400 can get the same amount of power in a shallower depth. Only drawback there is an extra rackspace, but it's usually gonna be a better tradeoff...

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why all these one space rack power amps are so deep. Why can't someone make a monoblock 800 watt or so one space power amp in standard rack format that is 10" deep, like a lot of micro amps.

Until someone does that, IMO this type of product is pretty uninteresting. On the other hand, if you can fit a nice one space preamp and nicely spec'd one space power amp in a 'shallow rack', that would make modular rigs a bit more popular with many players.

Right, if an integrated head can be 10" deep, 1U high, and 11" wide and cost $500, why can't JUST the power section be the same size and price, if not smaller and cheaper?

Isn't it frustrating waiting for someone to invent what you want?

1U space
300x2 @ 8 ohms
500x2 @ 4 Ohms
1000 @ 8 Ohms bridged
Doesn't seem to handle 4 Ohms bridged. at $1000.00

Crown XLS 1500 will do do just as good if not better. You 'd have to give up an extra space in the rack(which to be honest is normal) and it's less than half the price. It also does 4 Ohms bridged @ 1550. even is it is overrated it's still a better deal IMHO.

Specwise, kinda like two swr powerlites, eh?
Which add up to a much smaller package...but, similar-ish price...

At any rate, not interesting to me.
If I were gonna go power, I'd go back to a qsc/plx, for a lot less.

Take one of these and build in a Compressore and get it down to 8" deep or so and I'd be interested.

As is, I'd be shocked if they sell any. Even one.

A message to MarkBass, don't water down your product line to make things that won't sell.

You make some good amps, just lower the price a bit of existing amps to compete with an Ampeg PF500 and you will sell a ton of amps.

That is all.

I just sold a Crown amp that can do 1100 watts at 4ohm for less than 200. Not a smart move IMHO.

Gee whiz................A single space 1,000 watt power amp that is 14" deep

Didn't Peavey do that YEARS ago with the DPC1000 ?

Only difference was the Peavey was 12lbs vs 8lbs for the Markbass (and alot cheaper).

You know, I LOVE MarkBass...and I have since I purchased my CMD 121P in 2007?? 2008?? Hell I have forgotten....

But I have to be completely honest here when I say that MB hasn't done anything in some time that interests me...

Just my opinion........YMMV

Unless street is less than a half of retail, I don't see much buzz. A dollar a watt doesn't seem like a deal to me these days...What with the Peavey IPR and Crown Drivecore out there.

hey, if they can sell a bunch to folks who can use them, more power to everyone!

I remember the first amp I ever bought. A gorilla. I asked the pawn shop guy "how much?" "A dollar a watt."

Will probably be $600 to $700 on the floor? Still too much for an ugly paper wieght IMO.

I absolutely hate those push button switches with no light indicator to say if they're in our out. Cheesy on an amp of this caliber

I love how good markbass amps (and some of their cabs) sound but gawd are they expensive. Everything they make is just pricey and in the case of this amp, their gigbag and a few other thing it just makes me go "What...?"

I pushed and pushed for this amp (I'm sure I wasn't alone). Then the specs and pricing were announced.

Oh well. I do appreciate Peter's responses to requests. Super nice guy.

I ended up jumping on a XLS DriveCore 1500. Great amp and super light and shallow.
