im on a lot of gear forums so i just put it all in the title now.
i need something with that will move air. i can ovb drop the ohm load by adding the 4x10. what used older what ever you have heard in the past that works i dont care about weight/ looks/ fx/ and i understand how to use an eq if i need. my chain is mex jazz w/rosewood - boss tu2 - amp. i use tape wound strings to achieve most of the tone im after so that will take care of a lot.

$350 maxed on TB or the bay please

any answers are both thanked and appreciated

btw yes there is the search and when i have the time i would much rather use it. i dont

I think what you want is a head, not a combo. Just get an 8 ohm head to push the 410 you have, and you're done. Otherwise, if you get a combo you'll have to mix your 410s with other-sized speakers, the best of which would be either a 15 or two tens. I don't think there are any 410 combos--?

+1 to that, look for a 500 watt head to pair with the 410, NOT a combo amp.

Hartke and Ashdown make a 4X10 Combo, although you might have a tough time meeting your price point of $350. Good luck with your search.

Marshall also makes a 410 combo, in the MB series. It's €700 new, so I doub't you can find it for $350 second hand in the US.

hi thanks for the response but im not looking for a 4x10 combo but a high power 2x10 maybe or 1x15 to sit on top or next to and run the 4x10 cab off it to drop the ohms and get more power out of the combo.

thanks

You are confusing us. What do you have right now? Do you have a head? A combo?

What?

sorry i have a 8ohm 4x10 cab. no power or pre.

it was recommended to me by some local bass players that money wise it might be cheaper to find an old combo 2x10 or whatever and that they are usually at 8ohm so adding my 4x10 would move more air and lower the combo to 4ohm increasing the power up to around 500+ if i find something old, cheap, and powerful, and use that until i gig enough for a just a head to go with the 4x10.

for the record i gig guitar, drums, some vox, harp, keys-synths - i play/record in any style music and know about it and equipment. Just not miscellaneous older bass combos to look for. i am trying to get more of the Modern R&B bass gigs in town because they pay decent and i don't need to move a drum-set. the tape wound, 4 string, jazz bass, neck pickup only, tone rolled off a lot covers everything and just lets me eq sub hits so im not walking all over the what ever the keys are doing. but this type of tone is all about moving air, or they probably call a dj next time, dig?

thanks again for your time

Best thing for your 410 is an 8 ohm head. Do you know the wattage rating of your cab? That would help. But, let's just say it's rated to handle 400w. And let's say you get an amp head that puts out 300w at 8 ohms and 500w at 4 ohms with an additional 8 ohm cab. Ok, so to get the 500w you need to add another 8 ohm cab. When you do, each cab will receive 250w. I think adding the 210 to the 410 is unbalanced. Another 8 ohm 410 would do better. Matching speakers always works best, so they say.
