Used Eden cabs - hot o not?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

I've found a deal that's pretty rare to come by over here:

The whole set included, but my main interest of course lies in the two Eden cabs, one 210XST and one 115XL. The 2x10 was bought used four years ago, and the 1x15 was bought new at about the same time.

The set goes for 900 euros, including the other crap, which is an Estonian made power amplifier for PA's (?!) and a Korg Toneworks multieffects pedal used as preamp. Both cabs go new for about 850 and 650 euros respectively over here.

My main question is, what do you guys think about used Eden cabs? What should I look out for? And also, out of pure interest, what would you imagine this setup would sound like?

(And yes, I'd probably sell everything but the cabs right away)

As someone who has 2 210xst's and I have had an Eden 115T I think it would sound pretty good. When my gear got stolen 5 years ago I looked around at other brands and came back to Eden.

What would be even better is to get rid of everything except for the 210xst - and use the funds to get a 2nd. My 2 210xst rig is my go to rig in any situation. The 210xst realistically is a modern replacement for the 115 in the Eden range.

I hope that helps...

I've heard nothing but good things for Eden cabs. I have never owned any (played on a few) but have never heard any negative comments about them. That says a lot. If the price is right, why not jump on it? If it's not you, resale.

If the drivers are not blown, I would think the Eden cabs will sound like a smaller version of my rig, fooking great.
I use a couple of old tube amps and a Lehle Dual splitter so I can get the EQ, Clean Dirt FX and power to match for the 15"s and 10"s cabs separately.

Eden has always made nice cabs, IME - I'd crank 'em up, give 'em a good listen, and if you don't hear anything wrong, jump on them...

I have a modest D210 cab and it sounds wonderful. I would recommend Eden speaker cabinet to anyone. They are very heavy. That is the one thing I don't like - the weight.

I use a 210XLT (which I got used) and a 210XST (which I got new). I love, love, love the tone I get, and have gotten many compliments on it from others.

I find the XST to have slightly "tighter" low end.

They're not light-especially when compared to Neodynium drivers in some of the newer cabinets. I recommend purchasing a dolly or cart with the money you save by buying used.
They sound great, though!

I'm not down with all the "Weight-complainers"

Personally I am not sold on the current revolution of flyweight class D amps and neodium speakers, although I was against the I-pod too!!!!!!

But sereously, of the three Eden cabs I've owned, the 210 was definately the hardest to haul around since it had no casters and was just in that too-heavey-yet-too small-at-the same-time-range that made it a pain to load.

I would MUCH PREFER a D410XLT over two D210XLT's. And by far, the D115XL is the one cab I regret selling. Kicking myself ever since.

To be clear - the really heavy Eden cabs are the 210xlt and the 410xlt. Most of the others are quite managable.

There have been times I have carried the 210xst in one hand and a small amp in the other.

I believe a d210xlt and a d115xlt. They also have a used eden wt405 traveler. They want $475 for that. I did like this setup. All of this is on consignment too.

That sounds like a good deal to me. I used these 2 cabs with wt400 for 10 years and it did any gig I threw at it.

So you're saying $1,325 is a good deal? Would offering $1,150 be an insult?

Do your research - go to the Eden Forums and see what these models are selling for over there, on Craigslist etc. I am in Australia so I'm perhaps not the best to say if it is a good deal or not in hindsight....

They are worth what you are prepared to pay for them and how they stack up compared to the other options you have available currently.
