Used Kustom Groove 1200 and Kustom 410H question

Sign in to disble this ad
I have found a listing for a 1 1/2 year old (according to seller) Kustom Groove 1200 and a Kustom 410H cab for $650.

The cab has a little vinyl tear and the "Solo" switch on the foot pedal doesn't work. I'm thinking that those issues after only 1 1/2 year of owning it might be an indication of abuse.

What do you guys think? Is $650 a good price?

If not, what do you think would be a fair price?

Cheers.

650 is high. I would pass on the cab anyway. I had it for a short while. It's HUGE for a 410, and very heavy. Did I mention it did not sound good either? I had the same head also. It gives tons of clean power and it was reliable for me. The preamp can use a little help tone wise, but overall for the price, a good deal. I'd offer around 300 for the head, and locate a better 4 ohm cab that can take some watts.

I might be able to get an Ampeg 8x10 8ohm for a good price. Good fit for that amp? I'm thinking you can't go wrong with that cab but doesn't hurt to ask.

I'm guessing...not sure, but isn't the 810 a 4 ohm cab? That would be better, and this will push 750 watts into it. We're talking volume in spades.

Yes, 750w into 4 ohms. The cab itself should contribute to the tone in a good way, if you decide to go that route.

That's what I would do.

The cabs are a very heavy!! I have played throgh the head a few times, nothing special but it will give you enough power. I tend to stay away from anything that weighs over 60 pounds. Too rough on the old body.

I have the head. its no nonsense power with so-so preamp tone. I am using it right now to power my sub channel for my home theater. kinda nice because it IS a giant crossover so I can tailor my sound. Im not much of a knob tweaker anyway so when I used it gigging it was loud and reliable. when I received it the mute or solo buttons didnt work. and actually I have to keep a jack plug in the back where the footswitch goes to keep it from permanent mute. not a hassle anymore as I am used to it. if you want the head offer $300 for it
