Using an amp head with headphones

Sign in to disble this ad
The GK MB200 head has a headphone out. A long time ago I owned a guitar half stack with a tube head, and I was told to never run the head without the cab attached. Is the same true for the MB200? I was thinking about getting it and a cab and for practice just using it with headphones and no cab. If I were to go out of town and take my bass and the head, it would be great to be able to just use it without having to lug the cab around, but I don't want to hurt the head.

Generally, SS heads are fine to run without a cab attached. I'd double check in the manual just to be sure...

Tube amps need a load connected. MB200 not so much.
