Using Both Speakon and 1/4" at the same time?

Sign in to disble this ad
Search function won't let me search for "1/4", so at the risk of asking a question that's already been answered... and one that is pretty stupid but I just want to be safe...

is it OK to power two speakers with one head, one with a speakon cable and the other with a 1/4" cable? i'm 99% sure this is OK, but better safe than sorry.

It's fine. Just stay within the operational limits for ohms.

FWIW my experience: I've run a speakon from a DB750 to one cab and a 1/4" from that cab to another cab with no problems. Both cabs were 8 Ohms. And I've also used a speakon-to-1/4" cable from the amp directly to a cab, also with no problems. I've also used that speakon-to-1/4" cable in reverse: connecting a cab that only has speakon inputs to an amp that only has 1/4" speaker outputs.
