Using broken Hartke combo as cab

Sign in to disble this ad
Please excuse the newbie........he means well.

I was given a Hartke Kickback 15 during a trade. It gets power, but no sound from either of the outputs. I'm planning on having it checked out, but in case it can't be fixed (or fixed economically) can I use it as a cab for a different head unit? Any issues/considerations I should be aware of when doing this??

I use the cab of a fadet SWR Redhead as a 210-cab. Had Problems with the tweeter, who is controled by the amp. But my tech fixed it by installing the control pad of a crashed-.up SWR 212 Workingpro. Works fine for me.

Just make sure what impedance this "cab" has - and be sure there is a connector so You can hook it to an amp. For losing weight it may be sensefull to get the amp out of the combo...

The speaker plugs into the back of the amp section as it is, so thats not a problem. I'll make sure to match impedance (think it's 8 ohm). SHould I stay in the same power range, or will bumping up be ok? Was looking at the GK Backline 600...possibly the Micro SVT.
