So I was thinking about getting a mono 1/4" Y-cable and running the send on my Fusion into both the Return of the Fusion and the Return of my MB500, making it essentially 2 Fusions...any thoughts?
Also I was thinking about using said Y-cable to just run into both amps at the same time. I've done the stereo Y-cable two-amp thing with a Ric before, but I was worried that it might be possible to mess something up doing it in mono from the same pickup.
Both scenarios involve separate cabs of course.
Thanks,

I was thinking of this because I was debating on getting a MB500 for back up/biamping or getting the MB800 for larger venues and us it with my Tone Hammer for serious overdiven tone. I guess I could biamp the MB800 and MB fusion as well but that is more juice than I need. FWI I've never biamped before and was just thinking of learning about it.

Not just being picky; you'll be searching for the wrong stuff if you go looking for information on the former with your application in mind.

Just run a standard 1/4" cable from the send on the Fusion to the return of the 500 to slave it. The Fusion will still work as normal without anything running into the effects return. From their manual for the Fusion "The signal to the power amp
is not interrupted when the send jack is used."
Try it and |

Try it and | This is how to do it (with a 6" instrument cable), and the fusion mute will mute both amps. Tuner out of the fusion still works. DI still works. Using the return of the 500 only also bypasses the 500s preamp, so you basically are getting 2 500 watt amps running the same signal. You will be able to set the boost and volume of each amp separately since the boost and final volume are post EQ (post what the fusion is sending to the 500) on these units. Set the boost the same (or off) if you want them to sound the same. Tweek the volume for different cabinet volumes, etc. Once you have these set, you can control the volume of the whole system with the fusions master volume knob.

For smaller/medium gigs I have a backup sitting right there, for larger gigs I'll use them both with 2 Schroeder 15L's. Thanks guys.
Anybody know where to get a pair of rack ears cheap?
Has GK made black ears for the Fusion? |

The Fusion is my new favorite amp (that isn't all tube). It sounds great with old basses and you've got the second channel to kick in an overdrive/distorted tone.

I am not the most tech savvy person. Setting my alarm clock proves to be challenging at times. So this is like brain surgery to me.
