I read the manual and it said I need a L/R cable summed to a Y jack. I'm using an audio cable into a Y jack, but it's not working properly, I know I'm not getting all the sound. I probably have the wrong cable. Well, what cable do I need?

I think I'm not getting a stereo signal. Like occasionally the drum track is missing or something, probably because it's panned all the way on one side.

With a stereo plug into a mono jack, all you get is the left channel. To get the whole signal, accept the fact your bass amp isn't stereo, and feed it a mono signal. I'm thinking the easiest way to do it is go from stereo plug to a mono, with both L & R connected to the same lug. This may call for a trip to Radio Shack. |

That gives me stereo sound in the headphones. |

I was using a 1/8 to 2-1/8ths into a splitter, with a 1/4th adaptor. Then I swapped for a 1/8 to 1/8 with the 1/4 adaptor. Works now.

I'm only getting a mono signal again. I bought a new stereo cable and the problem is the same.
Actually, if I unplug the 1/4 adapter very slightly (while connected to the cable), I get a stereo signal, but then there is buzzing coming from the speaker. Can any of the Genz Benz guys help out with this one?

| | Development Engineer: Genz Benz | | | | | What is your source?
Most common playback devices have build-out resistors internally so a standard summing cable will work. It needs to be 1/4" tip-sleeve on the amp end and whatever your playback device needs on that end.

Source is my laptop and ipod.
I think maybe I'm using "TRS" instead of "TS"? Will that cause it to not work properly?

| | Development Engineer: Genz Benz | | | | | T & R need to be connected at the 1/8"TRS end. Some laptops do not have adequate buildout resistors resulting in some distortion on the output under high drive levels. No way to know without trying, most these days will not blow up (a far cry from ancient history of 5 years ago).
