I must confess. They don't all belong to me. But, while I had them together I thought I should take a shot.

The original V4 won't turn on and the VT-22 doesn't have any tubes. I was planning on fixing them up for a friend and then buying one off of him. Then, I found the 90's V4B which I just had to have. That is a sexy amp.

I really regret not getting a V4BH when I had the chance. They are hard to find now.

Nice! V4BH's are pretty sweet - I actually dig mine more than some of the SVT-CL's I've played through.

I have bought and sold several Ampegs:
SVTIII
SVTIII PRO
SVT-CL
SVT-4PRO
SVT-II
SVT-IIPro

This V4B is the sound I was looking for. I always thought it was just a quieter SVT but, damn this thing has a sound all of its own.

I like it more than my friends vintage V4's. They have to much grind and not enough bottom. This newer V4B seems like it has more balls. Now to be fair this is not a scientific comparison. I have not played these side by side but, I definitely remember not loving the vintage V4 as much as the newer model.

Do you ever play them all at once? I imagine that many cones still gut-checks you even on the quietest settings.
