The V4 has landed!

pics: ampeg v4 $350 shipped

I can see why these amps are highly sought after.
I'm not sure how different the V4B is, but the V4 sounds fine with bass.

The amp isn't much of a looker, but it sounds really good....
I think it'll need some fresh tubes, I have yet to experiment. A little crackly at startup.

It's fat, punchy, full, tight and very loud.

I cannot wait until next week so I can try it out at rehearsal with my 2x15 cab.

the only real difference is the eq points are slightly different. otherwise same amp, and yes, it's very effective on bass.

man, every time i see a v4 or v4b thread, i bum out over my v4b that got burned up in a bar fire. but i guess it's ok since i never would have gotten my iron butterfly svt otherwise.

Yeah, that is a drag, but at least it died a warrior's death! Could've just faded from lack of care or worse, (not that you'd ever let such a thing happen)...

Jimmy, you should just get a V4 or V4B yourself man, it's nice to have one because they sound really fantastic.
