I really like my 2x15 kappalite loaded cab with my V4BH (AV), but if Im really honest with myself then I love the sound of 10's.
What cabs are you V4BH guys using? Im thinking about 410 or 610 really, mid sized venues, some with PA support. No specific brand or budget, I just want to match it up to a cabinet thats going to get the best from it in a blues/rock/r&b 3 piece.

So the Bergantino HS410 might be a good choice. It has high sensitivity as well, so it will be loud.

works great with the Ampeg
or any other head for that matter! |

So so for me its either an old CTS driver'd Ampeg 8 X 10
or better still an ultra efficient 8 X 10 like an Eden, my old one is the 8 ohms XLT it makes a hell of a lot of sound for very little watts and would probably give you the most spare headroom of any 8 X 10 out there.
So I know its heavy and a bit upper mid forward but the V4B has a fabulous rich tone that really works with it for me. |

For small rooms/clubs/bars it works real well. Sweet tone. I would use it all the time, but getting older, I go as light as possible with my gear (gig pay per pound increases that way). |

I actually A/B'd the NV610 with an -about '03 - SLM SVT810 a cuppla yrs ago & the NV610 FLOORED the SVT810 in ALL areas IMO - or to MY ears(& my friend's ears). We were both in 100% agreement the the NV610 (paired w/ a V4BH, a SVTII, a LMII & a Orange AD200 -if thats the correct model No. - was the 200w Valve Orange bass head anyways) The SVT810 was my mate's as was the Orange 200w'er. He reluctantly agreed that the NV610 seemed louder, punchier, bassier, treblier........... U name it.
With the V4BH it sounds great. Like a damn explosion going off on the low notes- in a good way & not at a HUGE volume level either. A GOOD vol. level too, easily loud enough to suit our bands with pretty loud drummers-one w/ a loud DW kit & he hits pretty damn hard.
The V4BH thru the 610 hasn't struggled in this regard. It DOES usually sit right at the 'Sweet Spot' tho. Where it just verges on OD. Dig in & I'll get a fair bit of dirt, playing softly & it cleans up nicely.
I often use it like this w/ our soul/funk 8 piece- & it's plenty clean for 'upfront' bass songs like 70's funk stuff. eg Jungle Boogie, Disco Inferno etc... I definately don't 'MISS' a tweeter either :-)
