Vinatge Ampeg SVT question

So on the back of my SVT there is an EXT amp out and an AMP in jacks.

can these be used as an effects loop?

thanks any help is appreciated, I searched but came up with nothing.

PS: I figured out the fan issue.

Those jacks are intended to slave another amp and cab(s) from the one that has the guitar connected to the input.

I can't answer your question about using these as an effects loop, but it would seem intuitive that it could be done. If it was my amp, I would use a cheap (ie. expendable) pedal and try it out. If you blow up a pedal you paid $20 for, it's really not much of a loss.

My experience with effects loops that are labelled as such on SVTs like the CL and VR is that most effects pedals work better between the guitar and the amp input.

i'd say that about any amp and any effect i hate loops. but that wasn't the question here, so i'll just sod off.

cool thanks for the info.

I will just start putting them in front of the amp. I have been using an effects loop on my SVT II pro for a while and just kind of got used to it.

wow ok, ya good advice about putting them in front of the amp. my fuzz's and overdrives sound incredible in front. hehe.
