Solid State 100W amp. About as simple as it gets.

nice... does anyone know how these sound? I would be willing to buy the thing and upgrade the speaker to get the most out of it

I own one. I think it is 50 watts. I tried upgrading the speaker with a BP102 and it made no difference, it still farted out. I switched back to the original speaker. All it is good for is a bedroom practice amp IMO, which is what I use it for. It doesn't really handle any lows at volume (4 string). I hope I've been helpful.

One could open a museum with all of the oddball amps Ampeg has produced over the years.

Thats in really good condition, but I think its too expensive. I've seen their guitar counterparts go for less than 200 recently on ebay. They were selling me one locally (guitar amp) for 100 bucks and I didn't buy. If you're really interested, try to get them to lower the price.
