Vintage MusicMan Bass Double Stack

I still have this rig and wanted to tell you that it sounds BETTER now than any of my other High Tech rigs. I bought the amp new and the cabinets later, in 1974 when the amp was made, it was the ONLY MusicMan product manufactured.

I fired it up for the 1st time in a few years and it sounds ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Better than ANY of my "Hi-Tech rigs". Old Marshall's and early MusicMan's belong together! Ken

Here are a few pics of how we did it, "in the day":

For myself I'm glad the "good old days" are gone.

I'm done with draggin' 4x12s and 2x15 up steep stairs not to mention Rhodes pianos, Hammond organs, ARP synths, Leslie cabinets and other sundry stuff.

Those are the 1x15. They also made a 2x12 and they were available w/ EV speakers as an upgrade to the oem.

Hip rig - I have the 212RH and just haven't gotten around to getting it loaded. It's nowhere near as clean as this one-owner rig.

I've always liked that amp & cab combination. You don't need a bazillion watts with a pair of 15"s in properly vented enclosures.

Thanks for sharing your pics. My first "real" amp rig was one of these Music Man 65-watt heads and the 2-12 cabinet. People used to give me flak about using 12s instead of 15s back then. I dragged that rig all over the place and it never let me down. Traded it off in 1983 for a Peavey solid state combo because I needed more watts, but I wish I had kept that Music Man rig.
