Vintage SVT Fan not on

Just a quick question.

Should the Fan on my SVT be always on, or does it turn on at a crtain temperature like some other amps?

always on, get it checked you don't want it to over heat. Might be a bad connection on the fan plug just take the back off and wiggle it.

Don't play it until it's fixed! I watched a friend's V-9 go up in smoke onstage 15 minutes into their set- turns out the fan never kicked in, and a cascading tube and component failure was the result. he had it rebuilt but it never sounded the same.

Perhaps this thread will help.

It would be unusual for the fan to fail by just stopping without any noise. Chances are you have a bad connection. Re-seating the fan connector(s) in the amp might fix it.
