Vintage VTB 300 Peavey Bass Head

I bought one a few months ago. My tech is going to tune it up, but would like a schematic to help out in the work. (not an owners manual) If anyone has such a beast or has a link to one, please send it my way. it's an early amp. circa late 60's. Here is a picture of it.
Yes, those are 6550 tubes. The head is rated at 200 watts @ 2 ohms.

Did you call Peavey's customer service? They almost always have schematics for their old stuff and they will email them to you free.

Ah......looks like the power transformer is missing? They were a problem in the late '60s. BbbyBld here on TB can probably hook you up.

I just posted the VTA400 schematic like a couple of days ago in a similar thread, and it's pretty much identical if you just look at the first channel. Go back a few days and you'll see it.

The PT seems to be vertically mounted..it's behind the power tubes in the picture..

I see it now, horizontal mounted, no longer next to the tubes so it has an update.

To OP:

I tried to dig up a schemo for you, but didn't have any luck. I even asked Hartley Peavey about it. He told me that this head is pre-1970, and that he most likely hand wired it himself, but he doesn't have any documentation on it anymore.

As throbbinnut has said, Hartley suggested checking out the VTA400 schematic. Hopefully it's still available on this site. Let me know if you can't find it.

Throbbinnut, thank you! I don't know how I missed that. (senior moment) I will get that over to my tech. You say to stay on the first channel. I'll let him know that.

BbbyBid, thank you for looking around for me. I'm sure it is pre 70's, so the schematic probably doesn't exist. That's good to know so I won't continue searching in vain. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
