Vox AC4TV8 Soundclips (Seriously)

I picked up one of these because I needed something tiny to haul to lessons that would give me some real tube crunch and grind at a volume suitable for giving lessons at a music store. For that purpose, this thing delivers!

Here's a soundclip of it, both pickups on my SG Bass straight into the amp. Wattage set to 1/10th of a watt, which is much louder than you'd expect, volume fairly low, just enough for some dirt, and tone somewhere fairly low. Check it out:

The other thing I want to get out of this amp is a gnarly distorted slide bass tone, to inspire me to work on my slide playing. Maybe I'll do a soundclip of that sometime if I get a chance.

That thing rocks!

So does the price. I may just have to get one...

I don't usually dig dirty bass tones, but that sounds great. Very musical. I wouldn't mind giving it a whirl with my treble guitars, too...

Thanks guys. You can probably tell it's a little harsh and buzzy yet as it's brand new and I just got it today so it needs to be broken in, but I can't wait to get it broken in and bust out my Rocky Mountain Slide Company Blues Boy in Bayou Blue with it. It does get quite distorted, pretty gnarly. But you can't beat the dynamics and responsiveness of a cranked up small tube amp. If I get good with my slide playing I might upgrade to some kind of Champ eventually, for doing some low volume blues stuff (lead bass) that I've got some venues around me good for.

I sometimes use a Fender Champion 600 for practice at home. Can't beat the tube sound!

I may be wrong, but I would think the AC4TV 1x10" would sound even better for bass. I'll have to give it a go...
