Anybody have an idea of how will the new VOX Lilī Night Train function with a bass guitar???
In the "old days", bass player used to play on guitar amps such as Vox AC30, Hiwatt 100 as good bass amps was not really available.

The new Vox amps don't have the most low end, but I'm sure it'd work. Could give you a cool distorted tone! My local music store is a Vox dealer but for some reason I've never tried the Night Train out. They're quite popular, they keep selling them right away when they get them in stock. Perhaps with some bigger caps or an upgraded transformer that amp could really rock for bass!

I've tried a Night Train through an Ampeg 410 that sounded great with reasonable volume for recording or low volume gigs, but I think the Lil' NT may be too low powered for much beyond recording purposes.

Well, yes, that amp is small. I didn't think it could be used for gigs and so, but it is so cheap and it is all tube. My thought was that this head with its cabinet could do better then a middle size bass combo!

I dont think it will sound good at all.. I have a Vox AC4TV with the 10" speaker, and i have tried bass through it (and even with an external bass cab) and it has always sounded really thin, with almost no low end...

I think the Lil' Night Train would be produced close to the same way as the AC4TV on the similar boards with similar hardware so i can't see it sounding any better.

It looks really cool though, that would be so nice sitting on 10" bass cab
