Want to add a 410 cabinet to my rig. What's the best route?

Howdy gang.
My band is beginning to play some bigger gigs and I'm thinking of adding a 410 to my rig.
Currently my rig is a TC RH450 with a Berg HT-ER/EX-ER mini-stack. This current speaker config obviously presents a 4 ohm load to the TC.
I don't want to get rid of the ministack, just add to it.
What would be the best route's?
Add a 2ohm compatible power amp? Add a 2 channel power amp and get a 4ohm 410 and run each channel at a 4ohm load?
Thanks in advance!

Add a matching Berg Stack, but get one as the IP. Or get an SWR Amplite to power another cab. Or get another TC head as a "backup" and daisy chain them for the big shows. If you like what you have, get more of it.

Thanks for chiming in!
All good options, but expensive ones. I was thinking the power amp + a used 410 (good quality of course, used AE410 or Epi UL410, etc) would be a cheaper route.
Another TC head + Mini-Stack or an IP310 cab = $$$$$.

Very true. There are various degrees of good, and those options are probably better, and certainly more versatile, but as you mentioned that costs.

I'd imagine that a 4x10 and power amp would likely get where you needed cheaper, as yoiu mention. The Power amp need only power the 4x10 at that. If your situation calls for it, perhaps another micro head with a different voicing could also function as a "power amp" yet still be verstile. Maybe a power amp can start to build a PA or a better one for the band. Maybe upgrading the current PA leaves an extra, usable PA. Heck, maybe you find an older 8x10/4x12/2x15 you like as a big show cab, at 4 ohms it might be all you need.

Mayeb a 3x12 instead of a 4x10 if you haven't heard them together. Some people like mixexc cabs, others don't. Only yoru ears can tell for you.

Now go off and shop in your budget with your ears, but you mayeb have a few more options.

you might listen to the mixed cab configuration...if you haven't already..... before you're sold on the idea.....
just validate that tonally you get the results you are after...as depending on pairing, you may get different than expected results

having said that.....
a second head slaved or run parallel, possibly using a box that eliminates back-feeding of the pre signals
or a decent PA amp, considering signal pre out/pre in match ups

Pre + PA amp setups can be finicky, so don't assume any pre + pa amp will work well.......or get driven to full power so well.....

with the ER stack, you have lots of sound (as you know), but maybe not as much of the cutting yet full tone of a good 4x10.......
if driven well, you might find that a single HS410 or AE410 might give you what you want w/o using as big a rig......

I have an ER stack and an AE410......both great...but for me...the AE410 puts it out there in a different sort of way...more audible I guess, but still has the muscle, and ample low end..... IME/IMHO

I have also used an AE410 + AE210 with 2x MB LMII, one being slaved off the other.........
It peeled the asphalt off our street.....

either way...good luck,

Thanks for the responses guys. Maybe the best route is one big cab (NV412 or NV610). I was thinking the modular set-up would be nice, but lugging a 410 + and two 1x12's plus a rack (instead of the TC alone in its tidy little case) would possibly be more work than one 100lb cab. Not to mention the potential nightmare of matching up tone goals with different cabs.
Good insight guys.
Thanks!

Plus the big cabs you mention have the tilt-back wheels, which makes transporting them not too bad.

Isn't there another thread going right now on the "Perils of 4ohm cabs"...

Were I you, I'd be selling my cab and buying an 8ohm version used...
