Warwick Micro; 1000 watts 4 ohms! 1000 watts 4 ohms. First impression was, hey it's kinda cool. New at NAMM. The more i look at it, not so much. Is it just me or do the knobs look like they could be broken off pretty easily? http://www.bassplayer.com/article/wa...0/150417%20%09 |
It looks like 2 cheap micros epoxied together. I'm not digging the faux wood sides, and yeah, those knobs make it look extra chincy. I hope it sounds and holds together better than it looks... |
Looks like poo. Hope it sounds good. |
Looks like a cheap vintage Japanese Stereo. :D |
The Warwick rep posted a link to a video demo. Nice amp but I hate the way it looks and it only has a single speakon output jack. Not feeling it! |

Hey, I'm just saying. I have a giant Sansui I lifted from a scrap yard that worked perfectly when turned on. It's a 2000a or something like that. Not sure, I rarely use it. |

Any idea how much they will cost? |
How do you switch between channels? Unplug from one input jack, and into the other? No footswitch? I guess if you want to run 2 basses with completely different EQ/compression setups, this might be interesting... otherwise... not so much to me. |
My first thought upon seeing it was a Radio Shack receiver from the 70's, cool then, not so much now. I could see all of those knobs sheering off very easily. |
Something else that really irritates me is that on the Warwick LWA1000 web page they have a video of a demo. All well and good except for when the guy as much as says that other manufacturers of class D amps are lying about their wattage - as in claiming that a 125W amp module is outputting 900W. He also talks about how Warwick wouldn't get into the class D market before now because the technology wasn't there to not have "spongy" low bass, but THEY now have that technology. Then he goes on to demo the rig with the most trebly tone imaginable, not illustrating anything in the low bass department. I dunno... I'm not finding anything to like here. |

It looks like something made from a kit in the 1970s. Maybe it sounds great, but the aesthetics are horrid...and this is coming from a HUGE Warwick fan. |
Just one word......FAIL |
I saw and played through it today for a short while and felt that it was a bit cheesy. It sure doesn't look like quality and I am sure it is very very costly. The sound in the noisy convention center seemed OK, but it was very hard to tell. |
it's supposed to retail for 750.00.. |
