Unhappy Warwick Sweet 25.2 - (Serious) sound problem

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I got my Warwick Sweet 25.2 for Christmas, and it always worked well. Since 2 days ago, it started do make a very strange sound, and I connected it to 2 different basses and using 3-4 different cables, and it remains. It is difficult do describe, but it sounds like a buzz, only when I play the string. The speaker moves as it always moved whenever I hit the note, but the sound is very buzzy and it is almost impossible to distinguish the note. I tried to plug in headphones, but there isn't ANY sound coming from the headphones AND it still makes the buzz, exactly like without them. However, plugging the headphones to an ME-50B that is connected to the amp, I am able to hear the sound nice and clean, but the buzz stays there.

Any help? Thanks in advance

Sounds like the power amp is shagged, maybe a dry joint somewhere. Try slapping the amp on the top and sides to see if it changes?

EDIT: Is the pedal in the loop or between the guitar and amp?

Is this called booting the system? If you hit it again is that rebooting the system???

Gawd! I knock myself out at times.

BassmanPaul and jjk2007,
I'm trying to solve it because I bought it online from a German store, and I live in Portugal, so it would take some time and may be problematic.

Electricblue,
the amp is pretty solid and difficult to hit, I don't think I can make any difference. About the dry joint, someone already told me that, but I don't know how to fix it. When I use the headphones in the amp, there is no sound and there is buzz. When I use it Bass - Pedal - Amp, there is sound in the headphones (clear) and buzz. When I use it Bass - Amp - Pedal - Amp, there is also sound in the headphones (clear) and buzz.
