warwick take12 combo amp

Sign in to disble this ad
am thinking about selling my peavy max115 combo to get a more portable 12" or 10" combo. 115 is really huge and heavy for me to carry it up and down the staircase each time so anyway i have found this warwick amp which seems to have cool specs but i have never tried it out, so thought i'd ask. how is it? is it reliable?

i have another option that is fender rumble 60 but i dont dig that amp and its sound so much really

I had one for a few months...
A bit expensive if bought new (€270 here in Italy). 80w with the internal cab (4Ohm). Pretty loud for the size, it's pretty light (16kg) and fits the trunk of most city cars.
It works very well, can be tilted, plenty of volume for its power (95db sensitivity if I remember well). If you find a good used example get it.
The Ashdown EB180 is a bit more powerful but weighs 30kg! So the Take 12 doesn't have rivals in the weight/power ratio if you don't go up in price a lot. For €400 you can buy a G&K MB115 that weighs 18kg and is rated at 200w.

For low volume applications it's great but some times I need volume (some rehearsals with metal-heads and things like that) so I went for a small head+cab.
Same weight but 350w. Of course it costed 3 times more.

cool! i figured the real awesome micro rig would be something like the genze benz shuttle 6.0 t12 combo but then its mighty expensive!

An used Take 12 can be bought for €150-170 while an used combo of that power (Markbass, Genz or whatsoever) goes used for €450-500. So the price difference is clear.
