I was surfing my local Craigslist, as I do almost every single day, and I saw this Peavey head on top of what looked like a 2x15 2x10 cab. Anyone heard of these before? The badge on it was hard to make out, but I think it says Madison. It also has a horn crammed in there, which looks like it might be some kind of mod, but maybe not. The whole thing might be custom. Here is the link:

Ring a bell with anyone?

I don't know what it is, but it looks to have been designed by someone who knew what he was doing. Worth auditioning.

Madison used to be, or still is? A line of affordable type cabs in the usual configurations but they did make a I think a 15/8 that was laid out properly, etc. That looks like a big brother to that cab. I don't know the construction material/driver spl, stuff like that but yeah, definately worth a listen.

My son uses Madison cabs for his DJ buisness and they are decently built cabs that work well for the money.
That is a strange looking cab,but if the smart people say it looks like a good design and it sounds good then I don't see how you could go wrong if you plan on keeping it.

Mostly because it uses a separate mid driver and the drivers are aligned vertically. Could push the mids close together and put the tweet on top but still better than most. It looks like a pair of 15/8's with their sidewalls grafted together then stood on end, maybe cheaper to produce that way, then add the tweeter.

I have no clue about the cab, but I have the same head, and it's great, cheap or not

I know, I couldn't find that cab either. I was merely linking the companies website in case anyone was interested or found it useful.

Madison used to make a cab with a 24" speaker. That will get you some low end!

I thought I saw a 15/8 from them in their earlier days, few ywars ago, could be wrong. Maybe it didn't sell 'cause it didn't look right.

I know a guy who is/was(if they are really out of business) endorsed by Madison amps and he loves them.
Apparently it was really easy to get endorsed because he sent me the sheet to fill out and I would have if there was anything I was interested in and wasnt aprehensive about not being famaliar with them.
But he loves them....for what thats worth.

I have 2 or those cabinets. Bought them pretty cheap abou 6 yeras ago or so. it is 2 12" and 2 8" and a horn. actually sounds very nice. Great rich deep lows from the 12 and the 8's handle the mid great. decent crossover. the horn sound like crap.... IIRC they may have been called the hydra in the past
