For that amount you must buy two cabs and a minimum of a 500 watt head....what do you buy? and why?
The rig will be used mainly for metal and hard rock...with the occasional blues gig on the side...
go!

There would still be enough money left to get a small rack to hold the amp and a tuner. Two HyDrive 4x10s would also be an option. According to their sensitivity ratings the volume would be only slightly higher with the 10s since they're 1dB apart. Those 15s are very efficient.
BTW - this is at GuitarCenter prices. |

and run it thru
Two GK Neo 212 or two Baer ML 112.
You'll probably get as many different answers as posts though.

Wrong link - meant to suggest a pair of 12/6's with the alphalite mid http://www.speakerhardware.com/fearf...driver-kit.php
+/- $1,100 delivered - but you need to add grills and finish |

Why?.. more than good enough for plenty of famous people, its classic, and its British

In my opinion it's better to start with one boutique cab then to go middle of the road.

Nice cabs (though the tolex is not secured properly), but awful customer service. Lots of good options here, and +1 to buying used here. I got a really nice Whappo junior clone here at a great price.

No tube heads.....though I like the sound, touring with an all tube head is a no no for me...pain in the butt
