What Acoustic Cab Configuration?

Sign in to disble this ad
Yesterday, I bought and an Acoustic b600h head and two speaker cabinets; both were Acoustic B210NEO Bass Speaker Cabinets.

I paid for all of it yesterday because they had a holiday sale on. They had to order the stuff from the warehouse so I don't have them yet.

At the time, I could have got one 210 and one 115 for the same price. (or two 115s). Since I haven't got the stuff yet, I may be able to change my order (same price) one 210 and one 115 (then again, maybe not.)

What say ye?

I play rock/country/pop with a precision type bass, no slap.

IMO, getting two matching cabs is always the best way to go.

Thanks for your response.

Let me add this (which is an afterthought and has nothing to do with your response). I can use the head and one cabinet (210) in one application and (perhaps), I could use the head and the 115, in another. So, by getting one of each kind, if and when I used them seperately, getting the 210 and the 115 would provide me more versatility.

OK, but throw that out of the question. My question is limited to the scenario when both cabinets are use simultaneously.

IMO, using both 210's will make the best use of your head. (both on the amp and on yourself )

Another (not as important thing) is that the "600" on the amp is into 2 ohms. All of the cabs are 8 ohms. So I guess I need to get two more of the 210 cabs (4 in all) to get all of my "bang for my buck."

Yeah, right.

I'm not sure what the mfg was thinking . . .

I run a B-450 and a B-600H - I use my B-450 for the smaller gigs and it alone will flap the windows. Both of these are 600 Watt amps.

If I want power - I just run my B-810 (4 Ohms) and another B-410 (8-Ohms) under the B-450 and that gives me 14-10s. This is good for playing wakes, funerals and dirges. If there's any chance that the newly-departed isn't dead, he'll arise when I crank up. Actually this is my big pasture or horse ranch rig.

When I play smaller venues, I use my B-115 under either my B-450 or under the B-600H.

It gives me lots of opportunities to set up according to the situation at hand.

I'm trying to get another B-115 and then I can run 2-115s with either the B-450 combo or the B-600H in a pyramid form.

Confused? I get about 6-different combos that way. I never even looked at the Neos though. The cabs look a little too small to me.

Hi,
I have a B200H and a B410 and B115 cabinets. I wondering which is the best way to setup the cabinets. Is it better to go with two cables from the head to the cabs, or from the head to one cab, then from the cab to the second cab?
Thanks!

either way is exactly the same so it doesn't matter at all. both ways are just connecting the cabs in parallel.

Thanks Johnk,

I've been trying to figure out if one way would be parallel and the other series and which would produce the most sound.

You wouldn't happen to know how many 8 ohm cabs can be connected to B200H and not suffer any loss of sound?

Thanks again,

the manual says that the B200H has a minimum load of 2 ohms (@200W), so four 8 ohm cabs in parallel, or two 4 ohm cabs in parallel, would be a 2 ohm load, so that is the maximum type of cab load(s) that you can run with it.
