SVT-II (non pro)... twice. Looooved the sound just too heavy.
Aggie DB359 - wasn't loud enough for retarded loud band I was in at the time. Would be perfect now.

Cool

My first bass amp ... a Kustom 100 watt 2-15 in black roll & tuck with the chrome ports. It was bullet-proof and just looked so cool. The lifetime warranty was nothing to sneeze at either.

An Orange Ad200 Mk3 that I ran through a TecAmp XL612. Sold both. Regretting it every day.

someone stole my blackface PQ-3 years ago, would love to have it back. Never had a chance to compare with the green-faced ones like yours.

Regrets? Early 70s Bassman (great for guitar), the Crown D-150A I used with the Furman, and half a dozen EVM-15Ls and Bs in various DIY bass and PA cabs.

Don't miss the cabs, but definitely miss having that many EV's, at least I have one left, super sounding drivers.

I've had (3) different B15's over the years and do wish I'd kept the best one.
And I had this bizarre-o, 60's SS end table/combo amp thing that I wish I hadn't sold when I was a kid. No idea what brand it was, but I've never seen another one since.

My first head was an Ampeg SVT-350. Didn't sound the best nor was it very loud, but it was damn reliable.

My heads occasionally break and need service. That's okay because they sound great, but I don't have a head that I'm 100% confident in.

I found it at a sketchy pawn shop with the serial numbers scraped off, so who knows the history. I bought in high school and it survived my throwing my gear around punk rock days. It also survived several cross country moves and a salt water flood. Looking back, after the flood I should have had it checked out, it was fully submerged. But after letting it dry for a few days, it worked fine til the day I sold it.

She was a workhorse.

Me too. Sold it when I moved into an upstairs apartment. Two weeks later I joined a band with a practice space and could have left it there the whole time. Shoulda hung on for a couple weeks!

I had the Buster wedge too. Sounded just like the 400+ but in a smaller package that was ridiculous to transport even with the handle. If I bought the Buster head instead of the wedge I would still own it today.

I sold my Nemesis Eden RS400. I loved that tone but sadly the damn thing just wasn't loud enough. It only put out like 375w even at 4 and it just couldn't keep up with my band.

My old Peavy TNT Combo amp. My first ever bass amp, that I paid $100 for. Beat to hell when I bought it, and played it's share of gigs all through college. Heavy as all heck, for a combo with 1x15, but I lugged that thing around in my old Honda Civic. I ended up giving it to my step-brother in-law who is a bit younger than I am, along with my first bass as he is an aspiring bassist himself. I don't miss it for the sound/portability aspect, but more for the sentimentality, as it opened up a new world for me as a gigging bassist in college.

Marshall 100 watt Super Bass plexi that I bought used in 1971. It was owned by Gene Edlen of the the local St. Louis band "Rush" (before the Canadian band -lol). Had tone to die for, but the tube quality was going down hill and I couldn't keep it running without the available EL34's redplating on me. Sometimes it would run for months, sometimes a few days. I sure wish I had it back. Knowing what I know now and the current availability of tubes I am sure I could make it more reliable. I sold it in 1974.

I really miss my Fender Bassman 300pro, but it wasn't getting used enough so I let it go to someone who might play through it more often.

I also miss the distortion I got with my Sunn Beta Bass which worked well with guitar as well.

I had a late 60's Showman Amp on a very long term loan. Gave it back years ago and have missed it ever since. That amp and a PBass through a small box Fender 2x12 with D120's it remains a defining tone for me. Magical. Had to be mic'ed of course. Mostly that was done with an RE20 and occaisionally a 421.

Dang I miss that setup.

In an attempt to regain that sound, I've been playing with a Music Man RD100 for the past year. It's pretty close head wise, cab wise I haven't found optimum yet though.

Not an amp, but I do miss having an Avalon U5 about the premises. I really don't have the call for one often enough to justify it. Sounds wonderful though... Someone should clone the first three filter settings and the hi cut swich for use as an on board pre....
