What is the best Amp/Cab Combo for $500?

Hi talkbass,

I have $500 to spend on a new amp and cab. What's the best deal and the best quality amp to get? I'm looking at this:

Acoustic B200H 200W Bass Head and B115 250W 1x15 Bass Cab Package: Shop Bass & Other Musical Instruments | Musician's Friend

And I can't find anything better than that to get right now because it seems to suit my needs.

Also, this cab only has 1 speaker. Would it be worth it to buy the 400 Watt Cab with 4 speakers in it? Would it sound better?

The best you can do is to shop for used gear. Your money will buy better gear. For $500 new, it's all entry level stuff. If you want pro gear, look used and/or save up some more$$.

These are on clearance right now in Guitar Center stores for 349.00. You will have to call the store direct for the pricing but it a lot of combo for what you pay. I just picked up the 1x15 and am very surprised and pleased.
