So I am looking into buy a powered 18 for my rig and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. If I could afford it Meyer sound would be great but I cant. Looking for something with great clarity and thump.

bag end, and look no further imo. they will custom build you an 18 with a built in plate amp, but you have to contact them with your requirements. also look into their ELF systems if you want flat response down to 8hz (yes 8hz). you need to add an Integrator controller and a power amp to that scenario, but if you want the best of the best...

Not sure my bass could hit 8hz but that sounds sweet. I was thinking more in the Mackie Qsc JBL and so on. Matching power to an 18 for bass use is always a trick and getting good volume without clipping is a battle. What I have found in powered speakers is that unless you are doing some crazy EQing they will not clip and sound great at high volumes
