I have been investigating amps for a few months. I am familiar with Ampeg and have yet to play the SVT-7Pro but once I try it I think I will know it will be my new head for the wattage/price/weight. I think GC in Brooklyn and Manhattan both have these but prob not any of the cabs I am interested in.
I am wondering what cabs people are using with the SVT-7Pro, what you think of your rig and what you think may be the outcome with the cabs I am interested in. I am thinking light weight/neo stuff. I will be playing mostly with a Fender American Standard P (C# Tuning) and Fender American Standard P Deluxe (E tuning) and louodest gig is against two guitarists/hard rock, both with half stacks.
SVT-7Pro with:
8 Ohm Cabs w/ room for a 210/410 after if desired...
Ampeg Pro Neo 410 850w @ 8 ohm
SWR golight 410 800w @ 8 ohm
GK Neo 410 800w @ 8 ohm
4 Ohm Cabs
Carvin BRX10.4 1200w@4 ohm
SWR golight 410 800w @ 4 ohm
Markbass 104hf/hr 800w @ 4 ohm
High Priced....
Genz Benz GB410 Uber 1000w @ 4 ohm
Aguilar SL410 1200w @ 4 ohm
Any feedback or cab suggestions would be great since GC does not carry most (if any) of these cabs besides GK and Markbass. |

Have used it with two Mark Bass HR115's, SVT 810 & NV215 also.
Haven't found one it sounds bad with yet.

Anyone using this head with just an Ampeg Pro Neo 410? |

I'm using mine with a Glockenklang 410 Quattro (4 ohm) on smaller stages, and a Mesa Diesel 215 (also 4 ohm) on the larger stages.
I think I get a wider tonal pallate with the 410, as the 215 is a bit "midrangey". The 215 just gives me a little more clean headroom if I need it, and looks cooler
As was said earlier, I think this head will be very friendly to most cabs. I'm loving the 7-PRO!
Cheers,

Got the pf500, had the cutting out issues when driving it so back to GC and ordered the 7 pro. I will probably start it out with some avatar cabs i have around. - 1 12's 4 and 8 ohm versions, 410 8ohm and 2 of the 1 12 cabs. will let you know what i think.
I will have to try it through a pf15he ?? (whatever the new portalflex cab is called). Most folk love the 500 with that cab and this is the same preamp with more balls. problem is nobody has any in stock to try it out....

I point 4 at me (vertical stack) and one for the drummer. Sounds good. They're older avatar's (about 10 years old) , so no real crossovers. Kind of have bass blocker things in them. |

I got a PF-210 cab and really love it with that head. I guess I'm just a sealed cab guy.
Can't imagine how awesome that head would be with an Ampeg 8X10, and I'm curious how the Berg NV series would be.
I'm just a hobby player, so I'm set for now, but probably GAS for another PF cab later.

Don't know if the EQ points line up identically, but they sound pretty similar to me, except the 7 Pro has this wallop to it that's in the PF500 but not quite to the degree of the 7 Pro.

| | | | I run mine through and SVT 410hlf. Sounds great and gets louder than I have ever or will ever need. I know the the 410hlf is 4ohm and 500 watt handling with the 7 pro putting out 1000 watts at 4 ohms but there hasn't been any problems thus far. |
