What cab do you use with your Ashdown ABM 500 EVO III

Hi, Getting this head, just wondering what some of you are using for cabinets and how it's working for you. I have to buy cabinets sight unseen unfortunately, so what do you think works best for this head? What are your experiences? I want something flexible and portable that will compliment the rich and warm tone of this head.

My original pairing was 2 Aguilar GS 212's for a combined 4 ohm load, but I have heard this may not be the way to go. Someone suggested I try the Aguilar DB212's which are tuned differently. If anyone has tried the Aguilar DB212's with this head please let me know, as I would consider them even though they are a bit more than I wanted to spend.

Thanks to all who contribute.

Shoot Jauqo IIIX a message, he has a ton of Ashdown stuff upon others and can probably reccommend a good match for you

DB's would suit better imo, but with eq-ing, the GS cabs would work. 2 x 212's a great choice

I used the EVO II with these:
NV412= AWESOMENESS!!
NV610= cool, but not awesome
2 ampeg 410he's= DROOL WORTHY
ampeg 610hlf= meh...
fender 610pro= pretty solid once you tame the boom.
fender 215pro= wooly and open.. I likey.
2 ashdown 115 ABMs= vintage bliss with a touch of modern zing
abm 115 and abm 210= more portable vintage bliss and just COOKS IT!!!
mesa powerhouse 410/115 cab= ick.

I use the Ashdown ABM 610 and it pairs wonderfully with the ABM 500 EVO III. Its a sealed cab so no tweeter or bass port, it is super punchy and deep. Awesome cab and not quite as impractical as an 8x10.

I use my ABM900 with a pair of GS212s (one 4 ohm, one 8 ohm) and this rig never disappoints. No boominess, plenty of punch and crispness, even when driving the preamp tube on the Ashdown. The ABM also sounds nice with my Reeves 115 and my old Ampeg 810, but I mostly use it with the Aggie cabs. The GS cabs can tend to sound too sterile with other heads, and the ABM can sound too muddy with other cabs, but together they are great.

Agree, very happy with my 610 and ABM 500, great sound plenty of volume only have mine set on just over half volume playing with two guitarists and a loud drummer playing rock/blues. Not too much hassle moving it as casters work great, got rid of 410 and 115 as it was more hassle moving them around than the 610 and the sound in my opinion is better.

I have 2 ABM's and quite honestly, it's a very versatile head. Going from a cab like a 810 to a 115 might need some tweaking. But it's my favorite hybrid head out there.

I am, however, not a fan of Ashdown ABM cabs. I won't go on a rant here, but you can PM me and I'll give you my experience.

sorry if im a bit late but is the 610 deep enough that it goes through your chest if yoy get what i mean or would a 2 abm 115s be better or a trace elliot 410? Sorry im just so stuck and can't decide or no which is better. I like a warm traditional and old school sound with that cool boom in the low end that goes through your chest

ABM 610

I just got a ABM 610 [blue speakers] and the sound resembles my old SVT cabinets. The bass punches hard and is well-dampened so when you stop a note, it cuts off cleanly. I don't have the slightest idea who makes these "blue line" speakers .

ABM cabs are really nice in my experience. Damn heavy though.
