Hey guys. I recently bought a LMIII off the classifieds (shout out to 3rdcurve for being patient with me) as a first head, as I'm rapidly outgrowing my BA115 combo.
I've played the head in-store with a Markbass 2x10 and fell in love with the tone. The cab had great punch and clarity, and it felt like it was really reproducing that LM sound very well. The problem is that $650 is a lot of money for a rig that will have to be supplemented later on. So now I'm looking for other options.
What I need is a Cab no larger than a 4x10 and preferably no more than $600 that will give me a similar punch. What would you throw under a LMIII? |

I also owned a couple of Markbass combos that used the LMII: the 121P and 151P. I don't like the Markbass piezo tweeters, unfortunately I never tried any of their horn "H" cabs.
EDIT: I forgot, I also paired the LMII with an LDS 12/6 nEarful cab. Excellent.

It also sounded amazing with a Sonic B210XT.
I don't care for it with my beloved AccuGroove cabinets (Tri110, Tri 12, Tri210L)...but they're for my Walkabout anyway.
Sounded fine with an Avatar B410 and a Sonic B610T.
They're supposed to sound great with a Aguilar GS112 paired with an Eden D112XLT.
I think you'd be golden with a couple good sounding (not necessarily expensive) 8 ohm 2x10s!!!
Just remember that 4 ohms (aka one 4 ohm cabinet or two 8 ohm cabinets) is the minimum load impedance.

For me, the Avatars had the best sound for me! Too bad I sold the cabs just to buy lighter cabs. I'm missing my sound now. LOL! I'll find it again! |

Tried the LMII through the 15" in my Trace Elliot GP7SM 200 combo. Great tone, but not as loud as the 151P.

It just had a low end that none of the GK or Ampeg stuff had for the size and weight. Did dig the GK heads though.
