+1. I'm very impressed with this amp, and the weight is just amazing. If you need more power, maybe the MB210 or MB212 are better choices.

There's not really a right answer with what's better between GK and Ampeg. I own products from both and am satisfied with them. If you want a versatile EQ and more headroom, and maybe a slightly more aggressive sound, go with GK. If you want a nice "standard" clean, round, thumpy sound, go with Ampeg. That's a basic guideline.

I haven't tried the GK MB combos, and I wasn't overly impressed with most Ampeg combos apart from the B-100R and B-200R which are now out of production. It's not a combo, but one thing you may want to check out if you go Ampeg is the Micro VR. It's a 200-watt solid state head with matching vertical 210 cabinet, and overall its just a little bigger than a combo and neither piece is all that heavy. Its basically like the name says: a miniature version of Ampeg's classic "fridge" setup. I've tried the set a few times and have since bought the cabinet (which im using with an older GK head) and im really happy with it so far. I may get the matching head at some point. It's a great buy without breaking the bank and makes for a great "grab and go" rig.
