I was looking at getting the new GK-MB112 combo, but this one has popped up for round about the same $. Wonder now what to do.
I play a bit of rock,funk, punk.

I've owned the MB 150S combo for over a year now. I love it. I use it for home practice, teaching- where I need two amps and small room gigs. I don't plan on getting rid of it any time soon.
I don't find it dated at all. I tried a lot of other small combos in that price range and settled on the GK because of the sound, small size and light weight. It plays louder than you think it would, particularly with an extension cab. But it's not a good amp for loud rock gigs even though you can get a good rock sound from it. It won't compete, volume wise with something like the Walkabout Scout, which I also owned and liked a lot.
I haven't tried the GK MB112 combo so I have no idea how they compare. I know that for plain good bass sound I prefer the MB 150S over the little MarkBass 1x12 combo and anything else like it.
