What do you think about this Bass and Amp?

Hey People,
This is my first post on talkbass, not sure if this is the correct sub-forum but oh well.

I'm thinking of purchasing a new Fleabass Model 32, purely because of it's low action, great size(20 frets)/shape and warm tone. I have been looking to play this through a new Fender Rumble 75, because it's louder than my rumble 15, and has more controls and functionalities. I'm only going to be using it for practice and small gigs (ie. the pub and small room venues).

I want a new Bass and Amp that can acheive a Flea tone and sound without breaking my budget which is $1000.
What do you think?

Cheers Anthony

With a budget of a grand, spend $700 on a used Stingray (yes you can find one at that price used, just keep looking) and hold on to the other $300. Save a couple hundred more and pick up one of GK's new combos. Not only will that get you way closer to the flea sound but it'll be an all round better package and kill it in almost any genre.

I agree.. you can even go for one of the new Sterling Ray series instead of the FleaBass, and hit up the GK MB115. You will still be well under a $1000 and have some killer tone.

I never liked the Fleabass line. They felt cheep IMO.
