WHASUP.

well... i was thinking about getting the GK mb210 to use in the band im in. the band has 6 member.
(drummer, vox, lead guitar, rythm guitar, keys, and ME!)
we play like praise band stuff, and "christian hard rock"
(just think contemporoary church stuff... i guess thats what youd call us.)

i heard things about the GK farting out at about 12 on the volume. i usually keep all my settings (except for gain) right at 12 or lower. and i dont use any pedals or effects either. i was thinking some of these people saying that the amp crapped out at twelve, had their settings up high. Ive seen other reviews where people say this amp is amazing.

just wanted others thoughts!
(we usualy play churches, but sometimes festivals. we usually do have a PA for our shows, and i play a squire modified jazz leaning on the neck pick up. if that info matters.)

oh here is the band playing from like.. a year ago. that isnt me playing bass and we cleaned up and got this song alot better.

and yes we know... the lead guitar is kinda... horrid.

I play the exact same type music and recently tested one of these with a very similar bass. I was planning to buy the GKMB210 and get the MBE210 extension cabinet. The tone was ok but in testing it, it just didn't seem to have the guts to hold up.

I then tested some Markbass at the same time and while more money, I went with the Markbass CDMP112 combo and a NY 112 extension cab as it was way more solid, cleaner sounding and mucho more powerful.

I play the MB210 live with a heavy metal 4 piece (bass, guitar, drums, vocals) and it cuts through pretty well.

I’ve seen too many regrets from people basing their rigs on a 210 combo. Stage gets too loud, and no matter the 500 watts with extension cab, they can’t keep up.

I’d say get the MB500 head and whatever cab you want, then at least if the rig can’t keep up, you can put a couple larger cabs under it and hear yourself.

FWIW I use a Markbass LMIII with one or two TC 2x10 cabs for rehearsals and all gigs except...... that I have now orderd a MB112 for practice and the odd coffee shop gig that I do.

I think/hope that the 112 combo will tick the boxes that I want it to. I would not use it with a full drum kit though. I just like the idea of one hand with a bass and the other with a 12" combo and off to the gig. We will see if it works out.
