I'm looking for that combo that can hang with a light band. I think a 50-70 watt combo with a 12" speaker is ideal.
I recently got rid of my Ampeg BA112. The tone was thin, it had the annoying pop every time I powered it on and it picked up radio stations in my bedroom. Sure Bad Company is great, but not when you're trying to learn something other than "Feels Like Making Love"
$300 range, any suggestions? On my radar is a Fender Rumble or an older Peavey. |

It would be a shame to replace the Ampeg with another amp only to find the interference was still there and due to some other electrical issue.

I liked the tone and the brand gets plenty of love here.

Maybe I got a dud? The power, size and price were right just couldn't live with the noise. |

| | LICENSED TO KILL - any song I play! | | | | I'm a big Peavey fan. I like the BASC 112 (red-faced, final release, 2004 or so) 50 watts at 8 ohms, 70 watts when connected to an external 8 ohm cab for a 4 ohm total load. I run a SansAmp BDDI into it to give me a tight, clean sound.
I have two. One stock atop a Lopoline custom cab w/10" Eminence NeoMag and a second with an Eminence/MESA Powerhouse 4 ohm NeoMag. A total of 140 watts, which is more than enough in a 12x12 room with a loud drummer!

No issues whatsoever with interference with them or any other gear for that matter. Perhaps you did get a problem unit. Too bad.

| | | | The older B50Rs sure were nice.
Other than it being heavy for its size, I quite like the Rumble 1x12 combo

One of my all time favorites.
