What Kustom 2x15 cab is this?

Found one loaded with EVM 15-L's. Trying to find out if these are original to the cab and to get some info about it. Thanks!

I don't know much about Kustoms besides the tuck n roll amps. I found a guitar equivalent of this cab (same logo & finish) with non working CTS 12's in Columbus once but don't recall the date. I want to say it was from the earlier '70's.

Look on the back of the cab at the input panel. Does it say Chanute ? Kustom was made there before it got sold to another company. The tuck and roll cabs came with CTS drivers, with a JBL driver as an upgrade.

I haven't been able to look at the can in person yet, unfortunately.

I sold that series of 'big K' Kustom in 1977 at a store I worked at. There was another series of non-tuck roll before this one, it had a smaller 'Kustom' logo, no big K on the cabs.

In the mid '70s Electro-Voice started making the EVM series speakers (which replaced the SRO series). EV sold the name "SRO" to Kustom who had them make an OEM line of Kustom SRO speakers (15s anyway).

So, to sort of answer your question, Kustom did build cabinets with EVMs in them, but they were most likely labeled SRO.

The cabinet you show looks to be of the correct era.

Edit: If you're looking at the one on Chicago Craigslist, the ad says it was reloaded with EVM 15Ls, which suggests that they weren't original, but I'm sure it would sound great. The listing for the one at the Oxnard, CA Guitar Center (that you posted photos of) doesn't mention what type of speakers are inside (but the price is a whole lot better, even after you pay sales tax and $45 for shipping).

Yeah, I'd be curious to know what speakers are in the one from GC..

Thanks for the info so far!
