What is the other connector for?

Can anyone tell me what that second connector os for? Is it a thru connector? Is it just a spare? If it is a thru connector and I hooked another 8 ohm cab up to it instead of directly from behind my amp would that make it a 4 ohm setup?

It is a thru connector or a main connector, whichever you want. And yes, two 8 ohm cabs hooked up that way would equal 4 ohms total.

its a parallel hookup for daisychaining another 8 ohm cab. Which indeed would present a 4 ohm load to your amp.

Thanks.. I wasn't sure.. So it's either use that as a thru for two 8 ohm cabs .. or use both outs on the amp .. for two 8 ohm cabs but no more than two 8 ohm cabs at a time can safely be hooked up to the head. It would not be a good idea to hook up another 8 ohm speaker through that connector.. and another speaker through the other out on my head because that would actually be a 2.66 Ohm load on my 8/4 amp.. is that pretty accurate? (I am just checking my logic here with folks who know more than me.. )

You are correct. That connection will be the same as the connector on the amp. Hooking up three 8 ohm cabs with either connection will damage the amp.
