What to pair a 212 with? (for more volume outdoors)

Other than the obvious, being another 212 cabinet (it's just not in the cards right now), what is the best cab soundwise to pair with a Mesa Powerhouse 212? (8 0hm). I have a 115, a 410, and a 210 available as options. Or is it better just to use it on its own until another 212 becomes a reality? I was fishing around through the cabinet threads posted here and my head is spinning! 12's are a relatively new "option" for bass compared to the standard 210 + 115 combination, so not as much historical info here.

What are you trying to accomplish by adding a second cabinet? If it's for a sheer increase in volume, I'd go with the 4x10 because it has the most speaker surface area and will probably be louder than the 115 or 210. However, without knowing any brands or models I can't be sure of that.

If you're looking to add something new to your sound in terms of tone, then no one can really answer that for you. If you have all the cabs available, just try each combo out until you find the one you like best.

The Powerhouse 212 is a nice cab. Are you just looking for more volume?

What are the brands and models of your other cabs?

I changed the title to clarify, sorry about that.

Just looking for more volume for outdoor gigs.

No tone shaping goals here, but I don't want to "mess up" my tone with a wrong cabinet choice, if you know what I mean. (phase cancellation etc.)

In that case, your best bet is the 410 if it's also a Powerhouse. If it's not, you could have phase issues, or not, there's no way to tell without trying them out together.

I didn't know that keeping the same cab manufacturer/brand was that important. So any old 410 may not do than? (it's a Hartke AK410, btw - sealed cab).

Cabs from the same product line are typically designed to work reasonably well together. When you start mixing brands it becomes a crap-shoot. When you mix brands, driver sizes, and a sealed and ported cab it's any body's guess. That's not to say that these cabs won't work together, but there's no way to know without trying them out together and seeing if you like the results.

The only cab that will add volume to what you have without some alteration in tone is another identical cab. Anything else is unpredictable. And since you have access to the cabs you can use the logical route is for you to try them.
