What settings do you prefer for your Ampeg combo amps?

I'm using an Ampeg BA115 combo.

For typical loud playing I have bass and mids at the +0 mark (12 o'clock), depending on how I feel I have the treble cranked quite a bit for making my cool "progressive rock" venturous bass sound.

For practicing at my apartment, I turn the bass all the way down, mids at +0, and treble cranked all the way up.

I have disconnected the tweeter for my BA115 if anybody was curious; the hissing was unbearable and it doesn't seem to hurt my tone by having it disconnected.

Either way, on the BA115 there is a "style" selector in which there is not much documentation about which one is which. There are settings 1 thru 5 which are definite tone differences and I always play with the 4th setting which gives me the most treble feedback which to me sounds most vintage to play progressive rock.

What settings do you prefer for your Ampeg combo amps?

This is how I run my B100R 95% of the time for live use:

Ultra Lo = engaged
Ultra Mid = engaged
Ultra High = off

Gain = 10 - 11:00
Bass = 3:00
Low Mid = 8:00 (sometimes completely off)
High Mid = 1:00
Treble = 1:00
Volume = 11:00 to Noon

When I gigged mine, I ran all tone knobs maxed, ultra switches out, and set the "style" knob according to the bass and band I was playing with. I never disconnected the tweeter, because mine didn't seem all that noisy.

FWIW, I also ran my pedal board in front of the input, which included an eq and compressor.

I keep the style selector on my BA115 on 4 95% of the time. I find this gives me the closest approximation of the old-school 60s/70s Ampeg tone.

I've had the amp almost ten years, so I've learned to deal with the tweeter hissing. I've thought about disconnecting the tweeter many times, but have yet to get around to it.

Flat, for me, (BA112), and the "style" selector is actually a mid frequency selector. #1 being the lower end of the midrange, and #5 being the high end.
