Wattage alone means so little... what are you looking for in the head? What do you play? What are your gigs like?

I want a clean, warm sounding head, and i want to be able to power my cab properly. I play small gigs and coffee houses regularily (100-200 people) but i want this to last me for a long time. Im into rock/metal

Check out the Gallien Krueger 2001RB, It has two power amps at 540w (2 ohms) each, but you can bridge them together for 1080w (4 ohms)..

Well, really, any head can do "rock/metal", and there's absolutely no reason to be stuck on getting a 1000w head - you can "properly" power that cab with 1/4w if you wanted to and that got you through your gig.
Your best bet would be to take as much of your rig as you can to your local shop and try what you can. Try an SVT-CL, maybe a 7-PRO and 8-PRO, a Mesa, a Mark Bass, an SWR etc. etc. and see which you like. I like Ampegs and my SansAmp into a power amp, but that's me, not you.

It'd be a good bit helpful if you filled out your profile so this community can get a better feel for things like that

Into what cab? Ohms?

(edit... uh, I'm dumb. Listed right there. Sorry, didn't see it.)

If you "need" 1000W, it won't hurt anything to get a little less, or a little more.

Still have my old rig... SansAmp RBI into QSC RMX1450. Did 800W bridged into 8 ohms, 1400W into 4.
Now running a Carvin BX1500, it'll do 900W bridged into 8, 1500 into 4.

Any of the above would work. Go for sound first. Then look within that make/model lineup for more or less power if you need to.

You don't *need* a 1000 watt head, just because the spkr cab says 1000watts on it. It would most likely not handle much more than HALF that. I feel this may be a disguised (underpowering) thread. Say it isn't so.

Youtube shouldn't be your be-all end-all on your amp decision, but listening to some pro gear demos on there with a decent set of headphones on can do more than us just talking at you about stuff. The relative terms that people have to use in here are interchangeable, one man's warm may be another man's muddy. An amp that might sound clean and snappy to me might sound sterile and bland to you.

A lot of music magazines like guitar world and such do very good quality reviews of popular gear on youtube.

BassGuitarMag's Channel - YouTube

Start with some of those, Ed does some pretty solid reviews and is a good balance of talking out the stats/facts and actually PLAYING the instrument, plus he answers comments back pretty regularly if you have a real question.

I used a Carvin B1500 with my Avatar NEO410.... great sound and plenty power!!! You can find some used ones at good price.. its a bit heavy, but if that's not a fact for you (I'm 1.7mts guy) this baby could serve you very well!!!
Has a 5 band EQ (any sound you want) 1200 watts at 2 ohms of clean and punchy power, and it's real workhorse!!! Check some reviews and think about it...

On that note, I was running an Avatar B210 and B115 with that QSC. On paper, it was a 1200W stack. (700W for the 2x10, 500W for the 15.)

No way it would take all of it. And yeah, it could be pushed just fine with half of it.

But running it on that amp didn't hurt anything either. Just back off the volume when it sounds like the drivers want to explode. Which was pretty darn loud already, really.

Eden WT800B is a really good match for that cab.

At one point I was running the Eden with an Avatar 410 Neo and 212 Neo. Huge sound!

I have that same cabinet in 8 ohm and power it with a bridged DCM1500 Carvin power amp. I have used a Sansamp RBI with great results but prefer the Ampeg SVP-CL preamp that I have now. It sounds fantastic everywhere I have used it. Played an outdoor gig a couple of weeks ago and it kicked butt for two and a half hours in 100 degree heat and never missed a beat. Could not say the same for myself.

I just got myself a Hartke LH1000. 1100 watts @ 4ohms bridged. All I can say for now is great tone in a few seconds. Had tried many amps and heads before. Had to sell some because of money problems which are now gone (thank God). I never had a simple yet great sounding head like this one. Just hope it stands the test of time.

Mesa M9 is a nice suitcase nuke. Clean, very very loud. Very loud.
A Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 is a very lovely lightweight power house. Hard to need more clean and loud than those two for me.
