What speakers should I install in a Sunn 4x12? vs Ampeg 810E?

That's a guitar cab. It doesn't have enough volume to work very well as a bass cab. It'll never sound as big as your 810, no matter what speakers you put in it. You'd be much better off getting something like this:

Horn loaded = most thump per cab size and cost. Look at those response charts. Odds are that Sunn cab with 12a's would be quite a bit lower across the board, other than maybe the 250-1000hz range.

You could bi-amp it and get some great mids/highs out of it.
