What Would you Buy??

Ok, everyone has been very helpful...this place is great!

Assuming your in my shoes....what cab configuration would you buy?

Amp: Ampeg B2R
Bass: Brawley 4-string w/ EMG 40DC's
Style: Dub and Rock

I like a warm punchy tone with nice low's, on a budget, but have a Fender rumble 100 and an acoustic B200 to trade for the new cab/cabs.

don't dig on my axe....I love it!

GO!

My trade in's should equal about $250, don't want to spend more than $50 more.

But we'll be gigging and bringing in some cash for cabinet expansion in the near future.

Grab a used 410 and rock it hard. Avoid Behringer products. More speakers, more volume.

Save up your gig money and start looking around for a better head than the B2R. It's an OK head, but there are so many heads out there that sound so much better.....warmer, clearer, more powerful, and so on...

Good bass tone starts with your hands.

Markbass, Gallien Krueger, Genz Benz, other Ampeg models, Eden and so on. It's all about what you want for your tone. I suggest playing as many as you can before buying another one.

I am not too hot on the B2R since I already owned it and hated the head. Very cold tone for sure and not a lot of midrange. Great edgy tone though - perfect for pick players, not much else though....

Don't skimp on the cab though. The B2R can work out just fine through a nice cab. But a bad cab will MAKE every head sound like crap.

I agree in getting a used cab first, then upgrading the head once you have the funds.
