I bought a GK Neo 212 new back in August from RMCAudio.
About a month later a speaker blew and I called up Brian @ GK and he sent me to my nearest repair center. Sent it in, got it back a week later repaired no questions asked.
it's been good ever since.
Until today, where the same speaker decided to magically start farting.
I run with the voicing filter set for 4 string, not 5. I use the -14dB pad, Contour Max, Presence 2:00, Treble 7:00, Hi-Mid 3:00, Low mid 12:00, Bass 1:00, Boost 2:00, Tweeter 12:00, Woofer 12:00, Woofer & Tweeter Hi-Cuts engaged.
Here's the catch:
I don't even play out!
I have a GK Neo 212 (8 ohm!) and GK Neo 112 hooked up to a 700RB-II head. I am using the GK Speakon cables sent to me.
I play pretty much at bedroom volumes. I always play alongside my computer so I couldn't get too loud anyhow.

There is NO such thing as underpowering a cab

I blew the speaker in my GK NEO 112 at bedroom levels too. But, I think the OE speaker in the 112 is different design than those of the 212. And yes I mean besides the OHM rating.

| | | | i had this exact issue with a gk neo 112 that i bought from rmc audio a couple years ago. i brought it in to get repaired and a couple weeks later it started crapping out again. the guy who repaired it for me said GK actually requested to have the failed parts shipped back to them for examination, not sure why. i just said screw it and bought a 410 because i wanted the headroom anyway. |

Check all screws in cabinet (including handles, crossover, etc.). Sometimes a rattle in one spot will sound like it's coming from another.
