Hello,
I am new to this forum as well as to playing bass. I was curious what peoples starter rigs were or are. Please post what equipment (bass, amp, string, etc) as well as pictures of your rigs.
Oh ya, this is one fantastic site, I will post pics and specs of my rig soon.

Old rusty strings.

-thought it made me look like r. savage from def lep!
sold it to some guy i went to high school with. so i could buy a active fretless ibanez musician bass.
first amp: a fender sidekick 35. 35 watt solid state 1x12 bass amp.
great bedroom/starter rig.
this amp eventually died from too many dr. peppers being spilt on it.
replaced by a 70s silverface bassman 50 piggybacked on a fender 2x15 bass cab (diagonal speaker type). awesome sounding!

They supposedly came with Dimarzio pickups, but it sounded pretty lifeless to me so I put in Duncan Quarter Pounds. I also swapped out the rusted, locked-up bridge with my Jaguar Bass' original one (after this picture)
The lighting hides all the dents. I'm pretty sure you could kill a man with it and still be in tune.
It came with a Crate 15w amp...I don't have many fantastic things to say about that though. |

"Amp": lead sleds and P.A. speakers from my frontman past life, using random rack components as a preamp. It sounded like butt and I blew one of the speakers.

62RI Pbass/Gibson Zebrabird>>Fuzz Face>>Dunlop Bass Wah>>Bassman 300>>1x15
